Do’s and Don’ts of Weight Training

Weight training is an effective strength training that utilizes uses weights for resistance.   • Lift an appropriate amount of weight, especially if you are a beginner. One needs to be able to lift the weight 12 to 15 times comfortably and in a set of three for strength training.
  • Be extra mindful of your form. A common mistake made by many beginners is that they emphasize only the weight and not the posture. This would not show effective results.
  • Do not forget to breathe. You might be tempted to hold your breath when doing strength training, but it is counterproductive. Breathe out when lifting the weight and breathe in when lowering it.

Don’ts 

Do not neglect your warm-up at all costs. Your body needs to be appropriately stretched and muscles correctly warmed up before you do any kind of strength training.
